On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the Palisades Institute of Dominican College will host an informative dialogue about Private Healthcare Exchanges and the options businesses have to insure their employees.
As 2013 came to a close, some individuals seeking health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) experienced difficulty sifting through their options and enrolling in Public Healthcare Exchanges. The landscape with regard to the ACA continues to transform with new IRS guidelines issued on February 10. This meeting will address the fiscal ramifications of the ACA on business and the options available for healthcare coverage of employees.
Dr. Joan Facelle, Rockland County Health Commissioner, 2001-2013, and Kevin Smith, Principal, Mercer Health and Benefits, will discuss understanding the updated guidelines, how Private Healthcare Exchanges work and provide an option to current healthcare offerings, and fiscal implications of compliance and non-compliance with the ACA.
The seminar will be held in the Lawrence Room of Rosary Hall on the Dominican College campus. A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. The presentation will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end promptly at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required and the cost is $25.00.
To register, call (845) 848-7806 or visit http://www.palisadesinstitute.org. Free parking is available by entering the campus on the west side of Western Highway just north of Mountainview Avenue in Orangeburg, NY.
