On September 11, 2013, the College community gathered for an afternoon of rememberance, reflection, and service.

The afternoon began with a memorial service for those whose lives were lost. Afterwards, students, faculty, administrators, and members of the Rockland County Community, prepared letters and cards to be included in Homefront Hugs care packages that will be sent to soldiers who are overseas. This project was in partnership with the Volunteer Center of the United Way.

Donations are still being accepted for care packages. Troops need the following items:

  • AT&T phone cards
  • baby wipes
  • bandanas
  • bar soap
  • basic toiletries
  • Bengay
  • blank greeting cards
  • blank journals
  • calendars
  • cotton balls
  • eye drops
  • foot powder
  • handwarmers
  • hot sauce
  • insect repellent
  • lip balm
  • magazines
  • multivitamins
  • Neosporin
  • newspapers
  • playing cards
  • protein bars
  • socks (brown, beige, green)
  • sunburn cream
  • sunscreen
  • travel pillows
  • waterproof bandages
  • Ziploc bags
