CJ 229 Criminal Justice System (3)
A study of criminal justice in the U.S., involving basic principles of law; constitutional rights; criminal law; and the role of police courts, corrections, probation, and parole within the system. Movement of selected cases through the system is traced. The political, economic, and moral implications of our present criminal justice system are considered. Specific focus will be on the values, morals, and norms of American society and their relationship to the criminal justice system.
