ED 521 Theoretical Foundations of Educational Technology (3)

Through the study of pathfinders and innovators, students will examine the underpinnings of the Age of Information Technology. Theorists will be highlighted as students chart the rapid advances of technology and its impact on society in general and on education in particular, as well as envision the future in which technology will influence teaching and learning. Case studies will be used to discuss the issues of Ethics, Equity, Etiquette, Legality, Privacy, Safety, and Health. An online Student Portfolio , connected to a central EdMedia Reference Library, will be begun in this class that will become the repository of assignments and resources for the EdMedia program. Laboratory hours required.
