Homeless Village on Dominican Campus: Dominican College students slept in boxes to raise awareness about the homeless community. The idea of a box city was first introduced on the campus of Dominican College last year during a Rotaract meeting. The plan for this awareness/fundraising event took shape over the past year and came to fruition on Thursday night, April 17.

A different kind of spring break: Over spring break 2008, fourteen Dominican College students, four administrators, one alumna, and one faculty member spent their Spring Break with volunteers from all over the world. Their goal: to help rebuild the lives, homes, and communities which were devastated by Hurricane Katrina two and a half years ago.

Dominican College Baseball presents Memorabilia Night: Wednesday, April 23 from 7:00pm to 9:00 the Dominican College Baseball Team will host a sports memorabilia night. The event will be held at the Hennessy Center on Western Highway in Orangeburg and is sponsored by Grandstand Sports and Memorabilia.

Dr. Lauro Cavazos to deliver 2008 baccalaureate address : On May 18, Dr. Lauro F. Cavazos, former U.S. Secretary of Education, will deliver the baccalaureate address at Dominican College’s 54th commencement ceremony. The academic procession will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the College’s Hennessy Center on Western Highway in Orangeburg.

Ambassador Donald McHenry to speak as part of the President's Lecture Series: On April 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fury Lecture Hall of the Prusmack Center, Dominican College will host a conversation with Donald McHenry, Ambassador and U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations from September 1979 to January 1981. Mr. McHenry has also served as a member of President Carter's cabinet and as Ambassador and U.S. Deputy Representative to the U.N. Security Council.
