Campaign Goals: Endowment
Unrestricted endowment provides greater financial stability for the future, thus enabling the College to engage in planned growth and to seize upon unanticipated opportunities as they arise.
Such significant opportunities and the release of funds from the unrestricted endowment require approval of the Board of Trustees.
The Campaign seeks restricted endowment gifts for three purposes:
Learning: Endowed scholarships offer funds for students through an annual award. Distribution is set at 5% of the principal on an annual basis. These prestigious awards, named for the donor or another honoree, help attract and retain the brightest and most deserving students. The strategic plan is to increase this fund with a minimum base of $25,000 per scholarship.
Teaching: 35% of the faculty will retire during the next 10 years. Resources are needed to endow faculty chairs, visiting professors, and scholars-in-residence, all of which will help the College recruit new professors and further enhance the faculty’s reputation.
Programmatic: Endowment support for program initiatives will allow the College to continue to be responsive to the ever-evolving demand for improved and innovative educational programs. Recent key additions have included a doctoral program in Physical Therapy, an MBA, an MS in Childhood Education and a BS in Criminal Justice, just to name a few.
