The DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) program is for students who already possess a baccalaureate degree and desire to enter the field of physical therapy.
The professional courses meet on eight alternate weekends per trimester with each instructional weekend including a Friday evening, and full days on Saturday and Sunday. The four full-time clinical affiliations, totaling 36 weeks, are scheduled during the regular work week. The weekend format allows students to continue part-time employment, to maintain family responsibilities, and to pursue other interests. Students are cautioned, however, that long work hours are generally incompatible with success in the program, which does require extensive study time. Our past experience has been that students who work more than 20 hours/week on a regular basis have difficulty in meeting the rigorous demands of this program. The Entry Level DPT program consists of 99 credits.
