On November 13 at 11:15 a.m. in the Fury Lecture Hall of the Prusmack Center, the Division of Social Sciences will host the Sr. Michelle Nugent Lecture. "Succeeding in College" will be presented by Dr. Vincent Prohaska.
Dr. Prohaska received a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Chicago and has held a professorship at Lehman College for over 20 years and currently serves as the Director of General Education. His published work includes titles such as "Academic procrastination by nontraditional students," "Learning from Lectures," and ""I know I'll get an A": Confident overestimation of final course grades." Recent presentations range from "College state of mind: Addressing students’ aspirations and college readiness" and "Memory illusions: Fonts and serial positions." He holds membership in a number of professional organizations including the Society for the Teaching of Psychology.
